Dr. Brett Giroir joined NDA Partners as an Expert Consultant in 2016. Dr. Giroir held senior executive roles as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Texas A&M Health Science Center; Vice Chancellor, Strategic Initiatives, and Vice Chancellor, Research, Texas A&M University System; former Director and Deputy Director, Defense Sciences Office, DARPA.
Dr. Giroir had an extensive 15-year career in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He served as Professor; Division Chief, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and was responsible for the largest pediatric critical care and trauma program in the United States. He is an International expert on sepsis and infectious diseases and conducted two of the largest randomized clinical trials to date in pediatric critical care medicine focusing on sepsis, while at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. As Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, UTSW and as Chief Medical Officer, Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, he led close to 750 faculty members and clinicians, as well as a comprehensive medical and research programs including a large pediatric cancer center.
He holds six patents for Therapeutic uses of BPI protein products for human meningococcemia; Method of treating chromic cardiac disease, and Manrophage migration inhibitory factor as a marker for cardiovascular risk.
